Here I sit eating dinner at Panera, using the free wifi. Steve Job’s keynote was this afternoon and I totally didn’t follow it the way I usually do. Work is getting crazy, I have to bring my A-game now. Plus I took a long lunch to help Patty figure out what we could do with Connor, who was sent home sick from day care. We got a sitter just in time for me to make my 2:00 meeting. Man, I really need to do some work-from-home-New-Media gig fast!

I’ve spent a few days with my new iPhone. I must say I really like it. I am adding things to my calendar and can already tell that I can be more productive. Plus, mobile internet and twitter doesn’t bother me one bit.

Apple made a whole slew of announcements today. Maybe I will get to watch the keynote tonight, or tomorrow. The rumored ultra portable MacBook is now out and I have no envy what so ever. It’s not beefy enough for me to drool over, but I must say it looks pretty freaking cool. I must say I am way more excited about the iPhone firmware update. I can’t wait to get home from the Mac User’s group tonight to update.

Well a few days have gone by and I haven’t even blogged yet this year. In fact I still have pictures from Christmas on my camera that aren’t uploaded to flickr. I am hoping to make this year a really great one. I have been thinking about setting some goals, and not resolutions.

I would like to just be more responsible and productive. I really need to do the PDA thing and keep all my appointments straight. (iPhone anyone?) I would really like to grow my side business at www.pdotprod.com into something much larger. Really, what I need to do is get my stuff together in that respect. My mom is helping me out by giving me some business. I am in the process of what I think is going to be 1000 pictures scanned.

I want to finally take the Apple Certified Helpdesk test…

I would also really like to get the Podcast thing going and start getting more into New Media as a whole. I am thinking I want to hit up Podcamp Philly and Podcamp Pittsburgh this year. A lot if this stuff does depend on the next thing…

Connor is doing great and the new baby is on the way. My number one goal is to continue and improve being a good father/husband.

I attended the holiday gathering/December meeting of my local Mac User Group (MUG) here in south central PA. I won’t say the group name on here. It was interesting seeing everyone’s takes on Leopard videos from the Macworld video podcast. The group is not what I expected it to be. I yearn for a real hip New Media focused group in the Central PA area. This group is made of teachers and retirees mostly. Still, I can gain and benefit from everybody’s knowledge. I just long for groups and discussions like those I have heard over in Podcamp. I can’t help but think that I am the only person interested in living this stuff in this area…

Even though it passed by very quickly, this weekend was real productive. Friday had our landscapers fiishing up the retaining wall and steps. The job looks good. Al that is left is to stain the wood in 6-7 months and start thinking about how we want to do the walkway. I had an extra 4 hours to take off of work, so I ran errands like crazy on Friday afternoon. I was in Carlisle, New Cumberland, York, and Camp Hill all within 3 or 4 hours. We grabbed dinner and did some shopping at the mall, which wasn’t as crowded as you would think. (I got there before Patty and Connor so yes I didi go play with the iPhone a little) Connor got to see Santa as you can tell by my Flickr site.

Saturday I spent most of the day working in the yard. ALl of our leaves were in one big pile but never actually got cleaned up. It was frozen leaves and a muddy mess but I got them all bagged. Now it will take forever to get rid of them. Patty tried to go to the PA State high school football championships (her old school got beat) but she got there as everyone was leaving. Saturday night brought on some last minute online shopping.

Sunday was a day full of nothing, for me anyway. Pajamas stayed on most of the day while the area thawed out from the most recent storm. I ended up driving over to the grocery store and everything was white and icy. It looked awesome and I wish I had my camera with me. All during this time, Patty and Connor were busy making Christmas cookies. Then we had Cheesesteaks and watched the Eagles beat the Cowboys. About time!

I will be blogging more as I get more involved with stuff like Seesmic, Twitter, Viddler, etc…

I took the past 2 nights to move our office desks down to the basement. Painting the baby’s room this weekend. The drums will be going to a storage space (Hopefully soon) where the band will be practicing soon.
